The Gift

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

  1. I love this painting. Mary's posture tells us so much about how she loved Jesus. Hope you have a good week.

    1. I love it too. Imagine the emotion of not only kissing your newborn, but God. Hope you have a good week too and are safe... thanks for taking tea with me.

  2. I enjoyed your post! I love the painting, it reminds me just how vulnerable Christ chose to make Himself when He came to earth. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on how you celebrate Christmas! We have always done the same with our children who now pass that on to their children. They enjoy Santa simply as a "fun" & festive character of the season.

    1. He was very vulnerable as a newborn, yet it makes Mary all the more vital in His salvation plan. She could have refused to carry the Child, but as God knew her heart, He felt sure she would accept His Child. I was asked if Santa was real by my then 8 year old granddaughter and I told her the story of St Nicholas. She was satisfied with the fact that he was real and Santa is a tradition based on him. She loves the LORD and appreciates that Nana doesn't tell her fables about important things. Thanks for taking tea with me today, Donna.
